composing great photographs
Want to make your images 3 dimensional so they pop off the page rather than looking flat, dull and boring? Learn to compose fluently and your images will start to speak to the viewer. A workshop for keen amateur or club photographers to improve the composition of their photographs. Professional photographer Rob Auckland will share techniques to consistently produce compositions that really stand out from the crowd.
Topics we'll cover include: learning to simplify and isolate your subject, throw out the rule of thirds, subtle ways to lead your viewer into your composition and layering up your images so they have depth. A lot of these are non-intuitive skills. We will use simple activities throughout to get you applying these skills
Bring a camera, boots and warm clothes for a photographic tour of the gardens and park. The best images from the day will be shared online and you will get individual feedback on your own work.
"Thank you so much for sharing your wide expanse of knowledge with me on 2 courses. I have learned so much!" Bethany Sewell.
